I wanted to know if it can seem questionable to CIC if you have your engagement ceremony and wedding ceremony on the same date? Could it be seen as a red flag for any reason? Please advise. Thanks.

If you can explain why and how this happened in a cover letter with your initial application there may be no problem but it depends on the vo assigned to ur file

A lot of it can depend on where you are from and what kind of ceremony. What is your home country and where was the wedding?

The ceremony is in India; both the engagment and wedding at the same venue.

If this is normal in India, or in the couple's particular culture, then it will be fine. Just explain in the application.

If it is not normal in your culture, then you will still have to explain, but with more details about why you chose to do this.

IRCC tends to stereotype typical Indian weddings as large, elaborate events. But not sure if having both engagement and wedding on the same day is something they also look for.

We had our legal ceremony (engagement) and my traditional wedding on the same day. Except that we had the legal ceremony during the day and traditional wedding in the evening. The only reason we had that was that we wanted both our legal dates and traditional dates to be the same. Just be honest and it should be fine.
