I would appreciate some experts advice:

Employed to Company X from November 2011 to June 2018 in various positions:

1. Nov 2011 to May 2016 NOC Code C
2. Jun 2016 to June 2018 NOC Code A - 1114

Since I cannot claim points for NOC C duties for the period Nov 11 to May 2016, can I just get a reference letter for the period Jun 2016 to June 2018 only? Or being that it is the same company, I am still required to have the letter state that I was employed to Company X for the entire duration whilst only listing the duties for the period I am claiming?

@jes_ON and others

Thanks!

During the PR application process, you'll have to list your employment history twice.

Once, by only listing the jobs that are giving you points for the PR
And then a second time where you'll have to list everything you've done for the past 10 years.

You should only ask an employment letter for qualified jobs that are giving you points.

Thanks @nll however, I actually did some more digging and found this on the cic website as I was in urgent need of the requirements at the moment:

"should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits;"

So, I went ahead and requested the letter for all the positions I held at the company

Make sure everything is in there and I mean everything.

It has to be on company letterhead with every single bullet point.
My PR has been delayed for months because two of my employment letters did not have the responsibilities.

OK, congratulations!!!

Btw, I just received my Employment Reference letter and it was a scanned copy in black and white. Do you know if this will be acceptable or it must be in coloured?

Thanks!

Ask for the colored version if you can.

Also make sure that the responsibilities they have listed matches all or a good part of the responsibilities of the NOC code of you job. The agent will compare the responsibilities of the letter vs the one in the NOC code.

I will.

I have one of those NOC codes (Other Financial Officers) that can be tricky to analyze. This is my greatest concern about the entire PR process.
