Hi All,

I'm a little concerned regarding my profile for Express Entry. I was employed 13 days prior to getting my degree certificate, even though I have graduated a month before that. However, my job is not related with my degree in such a matter, Can anyone tell me if this will be a problem for my immigration plans?

Thanks in advance.

It's not a problem.

Here's an extract from an older post by @legalfalcon

"What is important here is that you need to show that the job duties of the NOC you selected, meets those in your work reference letter. You need not meet the employment requirements, so it can even start before the graduation. However, if your are in Canada, you cannot claim to start working while you were a student. If this was outside Canada, there is no issue."

Thanks for the answer. What about if I quit my job after marking a year and work something else that is not under NOC 0,A or B under a year? Would it be a problem if I apply with the previous job? I’m asking this because the other job can help me claim more money for funds.

I don't think that's the problem because the requirement state that experience should be within the last 10 years. That's exactly what I have done. So hopefully, I'll update you when I get PPR soon

Congratulations on getting the ITA, best of luck for the PR. However, do you mind helping me out with the reference letter, my supervisor has written it but said that he could change if its not good enough?

What's your NOC? I'm not an expert though, I'm not even 100% sure about my own reference letter in fact that whether it's good enough or not!

It’s 6221 - Technical Sales specialists - wholesale trade even though my title is Technical Associate, but my job duties are combined between a desk clerk and Sales representative.
