Hi everyone,
Would like to obtain advice. I am in very awkward situation. A week before i received interest from OINP. So i need employment reference letter about which i requested my employer. I had to quit my job because my work permit expired. Now when i m on visitor visa and atlast received a hope from OINP. My employer is refusing to provide me reference letter. I am continously requesting them . But to my surprise they are dragging me for no reasob. Its not like that i left bad experience at job or whatever. Now I have limited time and dont know what should be done.

Thanks all.

Try to get it from the HR or other Managers.

Else you can get it on a plain paper from one of your colleagues and notarise it.
Plus you need to include the work experience letter that they have given you along with this Reference letter from your colleague.
Also, include a Letter of Explanation (LOE) stating that you were not able to get it on the letterhead as your company denied it.

The first thing to say is that I don't think you can apply for OINP on 'Visitor' status. The next thing from my research is you have two possible options although I don't know if either is applicable to you.

Option 1: See if you qualify for one of the IEC programs. This will depend on the country you are from and age (in some cases). At least this can possibly get you up to 2 years of Working Visa time.

Option 2: See if your employer will be happy to give you a contract, submit on the 'Employer Portal' and pay the 'Compliance Fee' to get you permit extended to a possible maximum of (4 years - the time you have been in Canada).

Let me know if this works.

Seniors please correct me if I am wrong.
