Emigrating to Canada

Hi. I am just beginning the process of seeking permanent residency in Canada. Can anybody refer to specific posts/groups to see what all documents is needed and where can i create the profile. I am debating if I need to hire a lawyer for stage 1 of this process.

Currently I am an Indian on H1B in the US.

Just do the research and unless you have some extremely complicated case you should not need a lawyer or immigration consultant unless money no object
