Sorry, I should have been more clear. What you copied and pasted there is the generic message that every single person receives about their police certificates. If you are required to submit one for Canada, they will not request it until later in the process, and you will receive a letter specifically requesting fingerprints/RCMP check, by name. You do not need to submit one up front.

Oh really? That seems odd. Why would they put that option in and say that then. And they say "and" rather than "or"? I have the word "multiple" beside police certificate in the upload option too. So thats just always there for everyone?

But now saying that i have just clicked the question mark where you upload and it says you dont need one from Canada unless requested. I took those points in the letter as the "request".

No, the generic letter isn't the request, I promise. If they request it, they SPECIFICALLY mention they are requesting the RCMP check, and it doesn't come until much further down the road (like when they're doing your criminality/background stuff).

Everyone's MyCIC portal says "police certificates (multiple)" - mine did as well and I've only ever lived in the US.
