Hello All,

I am recording my hours of Canadian work experience to check whether I am eligible or not. I was working part-time with 20hr/week for 6 months. I then got a full-time job. Can I combine both work experiences so that it would be equivalent to I year full-time (1,560 hrs) given that I did not count the hours above 30/week for the full-time job?

Thanks

Is this all on a work permit and NOC A, B or 0? Have you worked at least one calendar year in Canada (not hours)?

As per the site for CEC.

  • have at least 1 year of skilled work experience in Canada, in the last 3 years before you apply—you can meet this in a few different ways:
    • full-time at 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full-time (1,560 hours)
    • equal amount in part-time work:for example 15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
      • You can work as many part-time jobs as you need to meet this requirement.
    • full-time work at more than 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months at more than 1 job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)

Thanks for sharing. This is as per the IRCC website. But there is nothing about combing the full time and part-time job to reach to 1-full year job

A full time job would be 1560 hours so you would not need a part time job.

You can’t add more than 30 hours per week.
I am aware of this condition and I even highlighted it in the question. to illustrate, assume that I have 860hrs/ from a part-time job. Can I add the remaining hours that I earned from full-time job to be 1,560hr given that I will not count more than 30hr/week

Thanks

If you already have 860hours in 43weeks as you said 20hours each week.
So you need work 1560hours-860hours=700hours more.According to calculate 30 hours each week,if you full time at the rest time then need 700/30≈24weeks more.

Thanks. So this means I can combine full and part-time to reach 1560 hrs considering other conditions

While we're on this topic, can anyone explaining to me when exactly you achieve 1 year under CEC if you work a full-time job? I started work on 26 October 2020 in a full-time job. Would I be eligible to send my EE profile on 26 October 2021 or 27 October 2021 or something else?

It depends on a number of hours not days, but you should complete one calendar year.
