Hi everyone! New here.

I was a paramedic in the US for 4+ years. On some lists, I see "Paramedical Occupation" (noc 3234) listed as a qualifying occupation as far as work experience for the Skilled Worker path to immigration. Some lists leave it out. Does it count towards the experience requirement still?

More importantly, I just graduated from a 2-year Radiologic Technologist degree program. The equivalent occupation is "Medical Radiation Technologist." As I am a new graduate, I not have any experience in this field. My goal is to immigrate to Vancouver as a Medical Radiation Technologist. Will my 4+ years as a paramedic satisfy the experience requirement for skilled worker immigration even if I plan to work as an MRT?

I really am hoping for some good news because the job market is crap in the US and I hear Canada is hurting for MRT's.

Thanks in advance to anyone with answers

to apply under skilled worker the main requirement are
your skills in English and/or French, Canada’s two official languages,
your education,
your work experience,
your age,
whether you have arranged employment in Canada, and
your adaptability (how well you are likely to settle here). {as per CIC website}
So if you have 4+ experience in paramedics occupation(NOC 3234..listed on eligible occupations), then you should apply on the basis of this. As it will help you in scoring more points.
one you are in Canada, then you can peruse your career in MRT.

You are awesome - thanks for the quick reply. Of course, I'll go into more detail with this when I'm ready to contact an immigration lawyer, but it's good to know more or less what to expect. I had a feeling that that was what I might want to do. Much appreciated, rimi3008
