Good day,

Please am planning to apply to study in Canada, I actually studied Mechanical Engineering in my undergraduate, but my result is not yet out due to the COVID-19 closedown, but I can probably say I will be graduating with 2.4+ out of 4 GPA (that's a 60% or more if am able to pass 2.4) but I will appreciate if anyone can give a review of where I stand.

Thanks.

So you want to do a Master's degree in Canada?

I think they tend to require at least a 3 out of 4 for GPA to do higher learning but it depends on the program, i think generally Engineering they are more lenient and can accept something like 2.8.

It depends.

As long as a university accepts you and provides admission, they you should be fine with immigration.

Yeah, that's more of the reason why I created the thread for help since about 3days now have been thinking about it, what GPA scale is Canada using, i can't really figure that out, but come to think of it you will mostly see 70%, which i tried calculating and i actually can't really figure it out.

70% of 5 = 3.5
70% of 4 = 2.8

and most of the schools will request for 3.0 or 70% but if they are using 5.0GPA maybe i could find schools using 60%, or maybe if there is any program i can do to easily get this issue resolved. thou i currently work i an Automobile workshop as I have heard that work experience might probably increase my chance of getting accepted, but i want to leave that job experience aside and focus on the main thing here.

Most universities in Canada use the 4.0 scale.

i think less than 2.8 would be difficult for engineering but you should look at individual universities' admission criteria for the program you want to study.
