If you go to some foreign countries (not USA), many of them use 220-240 VAC and you have to use a transformer if you bring your 110-120 VAC applicances for use in that country. In the USA, there are usually two prong and three prong receptacles for most applicances (ie. use 110-120 VAC). Two prongs include hot and neutral and three prongs have hot, neutral and ground connections. Both neutral and ground are connected to ground at the circuit breaker panel. Most include 15 amp circuit breakers and some things like refrigerators, garbage disposers and microwave ovens need a 20 amp circuit (unless they are made for a different voltage and amp rating) I'm wondering if Canada works the same way as the US.
