Hi,
I am currently a PhD studnet. I used to get a scholarship from my university, but recently I have signed a contract with my supervisor as RA or so on. My new payment includes EI. Just wondering as I am payin EI, would this be considered as arranged employment when I apply under express entry. And is this considered as a canadian work experiance? BTW my contract is one year, and I am already more than 2 years in my program.

Thanks

You need an approved LMIA for it to be considered arranged employment and to qualify for the additional 600 points. You can't get the additional 600 points without an approved LMIA.

APPROVED LMIA is required.

ok. would they consider it at least as Canadian work experiance, or as i am still a student it does not count?

From what people have been saying on this forum work experience gained as a student doesn't count.
