Hi, I recently lost my job in Quebec and applied for EI. I've also applied for PR through Express Entry and made a case about leaving Quebec and moving to GTA.
Now, I feel this is my chance of leaving Quebec but because I don't have an income, and the pandemic has affected the job market, I'd like to move to another city/province. I've also been thinking a lot about starting my own business in the new city after I move.

1. Would I not receive the insurance money if I move to a cheap beautiful city or province but with no jobs in my field in the entire province?

2. To be able to receive the insurance, do I have to show that I am looking for working for an employer, or can I register a business after I move and start working as a self-employed instead?

Thank you!

What kind of permit do you have? Is it linked to an employer?

Call EI , update your file to your new address , so the claim can be serviced by that areas processing centre
