My congrats to all lucky ITA recipients. You all deserve the compliments as the challenges of IELTS, Transcripts Trauma WES ECA etc might have tested your patience a lot.

Based on my understanding the CIC wants to award the ITA to the best candidates from world over.
Well, I am trying to help a couple with limited financial resources. Both has masters, with 5 years in IT, and Drug Regulatory Affairs resp.

Their CRS score 421.

The IELTS L 9 R 7 S 7 W 6.5 CLB 9 for all except writing 6.5

They are competent in writing, but failed to get 7 in writing which would take their score to 470 +

Seems IELTS people deliberately assigning .5 less to many candidates. It is really frustrating for people with limited income to keep repeating IELTS.
The PN also are having heavy fees. $1500?

Can anyone suggest / advise.

They have two choices: (1) rewrite IELTS to achieve a higher score; (2) hope the score drops to 420 sometime next year.

If they really have limited funds, I would suggest the reconsider coming to Canada. As I'm sure you're aware, in addition to the fees, they need to show they have at least $12K in funds to establish themselves in Canada. This isn't money they just need to show they have - this is money they will most likely use up completely (if not more) during their first year in Canada.
