Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi everyone,

First of all, thanks for being so generous with all your advice. I hope you can help me again.

(1) I have a degree in law from the UK (I have an ECA for this from WES) I never practiced law, however, and never sat for any professional exams that would qualify me to practice. Can I still claim the EE points for "Master's degree, OR professional degree needed to practice in a licensed profession"?

(2) After graduating, I worked in some random job before passing Level 1 of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exam and landing a job as a financial analyst. Since then, I've spent about 10 years in the investment industry, initially as a financial analyst and in the last several years as an investment manager. During that time, I passed Level 2 and 3 of the CFA exam and various other licensing exams. The EE online form asks when I became qualified to practice in my primary occupation, which I've stipulated as 1113 (Securities Agents). It explains that that date is basically when i received the training or education stated in the NOC for that occupation. The problem is, the NOC states that "A bachelor's or master's degree in economics, business or other discipline is usually required" (which I dont have).... "Licensure by the provincial securities commission in the province of employment is required for securities agents, investment dealers and broker" (which I did have, so I've used the date I received my securities trading license as the date I became qualified to practice in my primary occupation). Is this the correct approach? Also, I cant find anywhere in the EE form to put my licensing details. Can I include it somewhere?

(3) Will it be a problem that my first degree was not in economics or business, since the NOC states that that's usually required for my occupation?

(4) I am currently a full time postgraduate (Masters) student. I haven't completed my course yet. Do I include my course in my EE application? The online form doesnt seem to accommodate current, ongoing study

(5) I'm worried if I make all these updates to my EE submission, it won't be transmitted to CIC. Is there anywhere on the site where I can check whether my application has been submitted?

I know I've got a tonne of questions here and my deepest gratitude to anyone reading this and who can maybe give me some advice. I'm trying to avoid getting my application rejected for silly form filling mistakes. My score is 437 and I figure if I'm lucky enough to get an ITA, but my application gets rejected, its going to be really hard to get selected from the pool again. So I hope you guys can give me some advice.

Thanks everyone!

My wife has a law degree and never practiced. She got a juris doctor equivalent for the law degree. My wife also has a master degree so the overall was a masters degree.

You can't get points for masters degree unless you have completed it.
