Hi all. I am in need of some clarification regarding the statutory question that asks have you ever been detained..
Some brief background info:
I was detained in my home country for going to a Christian church session, as my home country is restrictive on freedom of religion. I was not convicted or charged with any crime. They interrogated me and made me promise to never conduct in religious activities again and I was released afterwards. This is also the reason I am pending asylum in the US at the moment.
Since I am applying for PR under Express entry right now, I would have to declare this as yes in the statutory questions correct? Both the PCCs also came back clean and I was only 16 years old when the detention happened.
Also just wondering what affect this would have on my PR app, just slower processing time? Thanks in advance!
