Hi Gurus,
I am currently on the open work permit (OWP) and my wife joined me several months ago as a dependent on the OWP as well. Now I am planning to apply for permanent residency under the PNP class.
However, after my wife came here and stayed for a while, she is not confident and ready to live here permanently now. There are some problems that she faced like being homesick, cultural shock, hardship of being away from her mom and dad, weather conditions, and inability to raise a baby in the near future without the help of her mom. She thinks of staying a few months every year back in our home country, although it is hard for us to stay apart. Considering the requirement to maintain the permanent residency status she must be in Canada for at least 730 days during the last five years, we are worried that she cannot fulfill this criterion and might loose her status. We don't want this to happen.
Now if I state her as a non accompanying spouse in my PR application, would there be any problems that lead to the rejection of my application?
