Hello Helpful Community,

I would like to once again extend my gratitude to this amazing community for helping others and myself through the immigration process of Canada.

I believe the time has come for me to apply Express Entry Canadian Experience Class.

I have been in Canada since Summer 2009. I came here as an International Student, graduated in a 2-year program and now hold PGWP.

I have just got my IELTS result with a total score of 8.0.

I have also just completed 2 years of PGWP work experience in my field (Information Technology). Although, this work experience consisted working with 3 different companies which I hope will not be an issue.

Why completing my EE profile, I came across some questions which I require help answering.

1- I am PGWP holder. I am applying as Canadian Experience Class. There is a question about proof of funds which is calculated by number of family members in my family. Is this applicable to me?

2- In the section of education. I have filled information about my 2-year program. I have completed this program in March 2014. There is a question asking 'This is my current study'? What does that mean? Currently I am just a PGWP holder and am working.

Any other advice or heads-up will be greatly appreciated. Once again, thank you so much.

Cheers.

2- In the section of education. I have filled information about my 2-year program. I have completed this program in March 2014. There is a question asking 'This is my current study'? What does that mean? Currently I am just a PGWP holder and am working. - Mention NO for this one as you have already completed your studies.

Any other advice or heads-up will be greatly appreciated. Once again, thank you so much.

Incorrect for the first question. If you are expecting to apply under Canadian Experience Class, you do not need to meet the required minimum funds. I can't post links but you can find it under note in Express Entry Help Centre's answer for "Do I need to include proof of funds for Express Entry?"

Yes, you are correct, updated it.

Thank you for your helpful response. As a champion member, will you be able to help me out in confirming with my CRS score and other doubts I may have while filling out a profile?

Truly appreciate it. Cheers.

You can use this calculator to check your CRS score http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp.

Thank you for the link. I am getting 495. I hope this helps me.

One more question- while filling out the EE profile form, there is a question ' Do I have a Job Offer in Canada' ?

I am working full time here using my PGWP. I can get a letter from my employer stating my full time employment.

a) Does that mean I have a Job Offer?
b) Does 'Job Offer' mean I have to go through LMIA process etc?

Should I just put 'No' to the question '' Do I have a Job Offer in Canada' ?

Please advice.

As far as I know, unless your job offer is supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment, you will not be able to get points for it. So you will have to select 'No' for this question.

Correct. OP would answer 'No' to the question of having a valid job offer in Canada.

One small thing, I am not sure whether you can 'apply' as CEC class. Its determined by CIC, on which stream (CEC vs FSWP) you will be invited provided that you meet the requirements for both! If you have and declare sufficient fund in your profile, most likely you will be called upon for FSWP stream. For myself, I showed less than 10K for 3 member family and I saw that I am eligible for only CEC stream, not meeting the minimum fund requirement for FSWP and that way I ensured that I get call for CEC class.

If you are both qualified for FSW and CEC and only want to be considered under CEC, just put "0". Anything you put down under the fund you will have to prove it later. (What I read from this forum)

However I only know about this in terms of single applicant. Not sure if it applies to family too (I think it does). But maybe someone else can clarify this for you.

Not true anymore. If you qualify for both programs, you'll always be invited under CEC.

I heard that too. I guess they finally made CEC the default option for all those who qualify for both CEC and FSW, which is nice. Makes it unnecessary for people to put 0 funds to make sure they are selected in CEC category.
