Sorry just to ask you 1 question, DM for 1st stage or 2nd stage? If it is 1st stage it only means the sponsor is approved. If it is DM for 2nd stage then it should mean visa is granted. I guess only reason DM would occur and it not be positive is if the applicant or sponsor depending on what stage was inadmissible or unable to sponsor.

I thought you couldn't see your ECAS until you got stage 1 approval though? I know I couldn't see mine.

You can if you get an AOR from CIC-M or CIC-V or CPP-O

then probably the decision made relates to the sponsorship part. When you open ecas, there are 2 parts: sponsorship ( and that's probably where you are seeing the DM now, which means that you have been approved as a sponsor, on the 16th of November it makes sense), and then there is the "permanent residence application status", and now that you have been approved as a sponsor (stage 1), probably you can see there "application received".
