In listening they just brought a radio out and played the cd, there ere interruptions but no body did anything about it. like maybe they should provide candidates with headphones or something so you can listen properly.
I have decided to retake the test and try score 9 bands in all so my EE score can bump up from 434 to 469 since i'm still waiting for ITA.
My writing score needs to be improved. Can you provide any help in regards to that?
Why don`t you take CELPIP?
This test is faster, computer based and I believe is not so demanding as IELTS (and cheaper too)
I nailed listening and reading (12 out of 12) writing 8 and speaking 7

The key to the writing section is in the organization. You MUST pay attention to the tone demanded by the writing task (do you use informal language to a friend? neutral to a colleague, or in an essay? formal to a business? formal to someone you know well because you are expressing anger?), and then organize your essay and letter in conformance with English standards. In the essay - topic sentence, and topic sentences in each paragraph, one idea to a paragraph, closing paragraph stating conclusions. In the letter - acknowledgement of any communication from the other party, a statement of what you want (why you are writing), explanation if needed, and closing that is in the same tone as the letter. Unless the contents of their letter angered you, your letter back will be in the same tone as theirs to you. You can see it is not something you can learn from one forum post, but there are many books out there and online to help you understand the concepts.
And, after all that, if CELPIP is less demanding (I didn't teach or take that, and don't know anything about it) why not take that instead?

You have your own head phones, so nobody will disturb you. I used it during all the test because you can`t hear anything with that, so it`s a good way to focus.
I did mine at Yonge and Eglinton.
Can someone share experiences with IELTS General in British Columbia? Which is the test center providing 7 in writing?
Require L-8, R-7, W-7, S-7.
My Experience with IELTS:
USA: 13 times (2018 February Till 2018 November). Writing 6 to 6.5 at Various Locations Across US 10 Times.3rd attempt opted for EOR at Portland, Oregon, but there was no use with writing score. Indianapolis 3 Attempts every time 7 to 7.5 in writing.
Successfully got L-8.5, R-8, W-7, S-8 on the 13th attempt.
I have experienced that small towns and specific Test Centers are genuine in marking Writing and Speaking Sections.
Canada (Richmond, BC): 5 Times. 1st attempt - 7.5 in writing but 7.5 in listening missed by 0.5. All subsequent attempts got 6 to 6.5 in writing.
Is there any center in Vancouver or BC that provides 7 in writing? Any experiences appreciated.
