Early medical - how does it work?

Hi all,

I wish to do my medical before my the med request. What is the procedure?

I'm fairly certain that I'll go through to the MR round.

It's very simple. Find a CIC approved physician in your area here - http://www.cic.gc.ca/pp-md/pp-list.aspx, call them to book an appointment for advance medicals, and they will take it from there.

Thanks, but will they be able to match the report to my file at CPP-O if the VO hasn't made a request for it?

Shouldn't be a problem since clinics typically ask for client ID and file number. You may get an automated MR email down the line, but a simple reply about having done advance medicals should clarify everything up.

I've seen other members say it's a good idea to send Ottawa an acknowledgement, receipt, or whatever you get from your physician, after you're all done. Sorry I couldn't be more clear about the last part, but I've yet to do mine
