Hi,

How long does it take from submitting your application online until you receive the instruction to send your passport for the Visa stamp?

And how long would it take until you receive your passport back?

For an online application you will get a passport submission request once your application has been approved. So you can check approximate processing times on the IRCC website

After submission how long it takes to get it back depends on the visa office doing it and the transit time form VAC to visa office... it could be 7 days... it could be a month...

Thanks for the response. I am applying from Washington DC and saw that processing times from the US could take up to 15 days. So in addition to the 15 days, it could take up to 7 days or a month until I receive my passport?

It is for a Visitor Visa, I am a South African residing in the US

All things being equal yes... but take note that those time lines are only approximates and they could vary because each application is different.... has many variables
