Duration of expected study

I'm filling imm1294 form at the duration of expected study I was not given the exact date for the graduation but it a program of 4 years and It starts by January 01 2020 what about 'to' there

Add 4yrs to the 'from' date. It doesn't need to be exact. For my course, it shows 2.5yrs duration in my LoA, and I calculated the 'to' date in accordance with that, even though a student can complete the program in 16 months as well. You can write, 31st December 2023 or 1st January 2024.

Ask your school about it.
Your LOA should mention completion date.
It may create issues as VO might not see the same and ask for addtl docs.

The following list of items should be included in the letter of acceptance from the DLI submitted by the student at the time of their study permit application:

• full name, date of birth and mailing address of the student;
• name of the institution and official contact;
• DLI number;
• telephone, fax, website and email information for the institution;
• type of school or institution (e.g., private or public and, in cases where the institution is publicly funded but not a university, indication as to whether the institution is a post-secondary college, a post-secondary community college or a post-secondary technical college);
• the field or program of study, level and year of study into which the student was accepted;
• the estimated duration or date of completion of the course;

So estimated duration would suffice, which in OP's case is 4yrs. Uni most probably won't make custom changes to LoA, but yes OP should confirm with them.
