Sorry about posting such a silly question but I was reading an old thread and someone had posted that if you do not fill out the forms using the bar codes that CPC-M are returning them......Is that the case?

The more I read the more I'm doubting myself....not a good thing.....Must we use the bar codes or can we print in black ink?

Thanks in advance

The experts here can verify, but I believe that after March 31st, 2012, you're required to use the new forms with the barcodes....but double check!

yes...has of March 31st...apps that don't use the new forms will be returned........

Oh boy please say that is not so. Can someone else please verify and advise what I should do about notifying CPC-M?

Any advice about how to rectify the situation?
Thanks

when was your app sent in??? if it is date stamped received on or before March 31st you are ok but anything after you will get back....

This is from the guide

Note: As of February 6, 2012, sponsors and applicants for Permanent Residence are asked to complete both the new Application to sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking (IMM 1344) form and the Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008). Sponsors and applicants are encouraged to complete the forms electronically and validate the information to generate 2D barcodes before printing. To ensure you have the most recent application forms, please use the link to the application forms.

The above indicates Encouraged to complete it electronically and didn't say MUST so I assumed we could print in black ink as many of the forms indicate on the top of the form? Also with certain dates that we were not sure of the guide indicates using asterisks but I couldn't get the electronic form to accept asterisks?

Please any adice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I believe on the website itself it stated the March 31st deadline with respect to the barcode forms not on the actual forms itself.

Try e-mailing them and letting them know, otherwise you are going to have to wait until they either send it back or e-mail you asking for the specific forms.

Unfortuanately it was received July 9th. Oh Man this is unthinkable. What an enormous mistake!

If it is taking about 90 days to get firts stage done. I'm assuming that even if I resend I would be bumped off the que, Do I wait for their reply or resend. Actually I have to wait as police certs and meds are with the app along with payment.

Arggg

Thanks guys

What e-mail would I use to communicate with them? I can't use the VO because they are not involved as yet. Is there a CPC-M e-mail?
Thanks

Hi marcopolocan.

Not sure if this will be helpful info, but I needed to contact CIC in regards to filling out the Addition Family Information form incorrectly. I basically contacted my VO and they said to wait until I have had correspondance from CIC (ie until I get a UCI number) before I can add/update anything, as it will be near impossible to do so before then.

I also emailed CIC asking the same thing and haven't heard a response as yet, but I used this email:

cpcm-extcom @ cic.gc.ca

The VO I am going through said it is up to them whether they will respond or not.

On the bright side they may give you a UCI upon requesting the new forms, which means you will be able to have access to your processing updates etc.

Good luck!

Are you positive that no bar codes were generated when printing your form? Main form the bar codes generate from is the IM0008. You will not be bumped to the back of the queue by the way, your file will be put on hold and revisited in a specific time frame after they request the initial documents allowing you sufficient time to get your new form in to them.

It is possible that when you printed your forms that the bar codes were generated as it was printed off. There was a couple of things I could not fill in and had to use black ink to fill the void :D

Thanks for your support guys.

I'm just e-mailing CIC with the e-mail you provided bagel thanks.

Unfortunately as I described I could not find a way to put asterisks on the form so I printed them and filled them out as some forms indicate that use black in and print.

I'll try to ask CIC if I can resend the forms electronically while I'm in the que? But they have to respond to me first.... Oh man what a way to start a weekend.

How do you put asterisks on the form for dates that you are unsure of?

Thanks

I do have a feeling these bar codes are generated automatically regardless of how you filled the form out unless you were using the really old spreadsheet which was changed nearly a year ago. I think you might find you did print off the barcodes. I remember the bar codes because when I tried to scan them my computer went nuts and would not scan them.

No I'm pretty sure they did not print out any bar codes.

I have sent the e-mail and hopefully they respond. I've asked if I have to resend the forms to them can I do so while it's still in the cue rather than send the whole thing back to me. Perhaps they could merge the two applications. I'm just clasping at straws at the moment trying to salvage anything I can out of this situation.
Cheers guys
