Hello,
I am curious to hear if anyone can shed some light on "dual intent" and my situation.
I plan to eventually migrate to Canada with my Canadian wife, we are completing the family class sponsorship application, I have completed my medical and paid the fees however not yet posted this application.
Last week, I have also posted an application for International Experience Canada (working holiday, 2 years, I am Australian).
I have been in contact with the consulate who have advised me that I should not be applying if my intention is to move to and work in Canada whilst waiting for the permanent residence to come through. I have since replied and advised that my intentions first of all is to travel around the country and visit family before settling down. The person I have been speaking to via email asked me to include my grounds in the application, however I had already posted it away. In the application I ticked yes to "have you applied for another visa for Canada?" and explained that I was in the process of preparing a permanent residence application.
I am worried that I may be denied the opportunity to travel to Canada initially on a working holiday visa and travel prior to settling under the family class visa due to mentioning that I was in the process of applying for permanent residence. Has anyone else experienced a situation similar to this?
Worried!
