Hi,

I am having some doubts regarding IMM0008 form please clarify,

Question 3* how many family members, including you, are in this application?
---- We are three members including me. But, i am applying PR alone. So, do i need to answer 3 or 1 ?

Under dependents
Question 11*
will accompany principal applicant to Canada?
---Currently they are in Canada along with me on Visitor Visa (but i am not applying PR for them) :-\

If you have a spouse and/or dependent children, "not applying" for them is not an option. It does not matter if you plan to become a PR first and they don't accompany you immediately. (That's actually fairly common, for dependents to land later than the principal applicant, PA).They must be part of the application, unless they are no longer part of your life. In that case you would have to provide a sworn affidavit to that effect, and that you understand that you would never be able to sponsor them for PR.

Thanks Jes....

I am planning to add my family later...becoz we have a plan to visit back india and my family wont return back another 2 years. this is the main reason.

Could you please clarify about my doubts.

It makes far more to include them in your current application rather than to sponsor them sometime in the future.

Them (or you) leaving for a couple of years won't affect your residency obligations.

The OP doesn't have a choice, they have to be included in his application, they can be non accompanying, but they have to be in the application and submit all the required documents.

So - your options are:
1) Apply with your spouse and child as "non-accompanying." that means you don't have to pay the application fees at this time, but you still have to fill out all the paper work for them, get the medical exams done, and for anyone over 18 years, the police clearances. Then, later to get them here, you would have to apply to sponsor them (more time and money and "application stress.")

or

2) Apply with them, pay application fees now. If when/you are all approved, you would be required to "land" (enter Canada to establish permanent residency) by a certain date, but your dependents could land later than you (as long as it is before the expiry date). But the landing wouldn't have to be the "permanent' move, they could still return to India for another year or more (as long as they return to live in Canada within two years of landing, so that they could retain their PR status).

Thank you All for your Valuable suggestions !

Now, i have applied for entire family and waiting to reach my appli to CIC :)
