Hi Senior Members,

I have received an ITA for express entry , I am on work permit and in Canada with my family. I have filled the PR form and landed on document checklist. I have few queries on that

At this time i am only applying the PR for myself

1. Checklist is asking for PCC for my spouse as well , although i marked them not accompanying.Do i need to provide it ?
2. Since we already had a medical exam before coming to Canada and have not visited any other country since we came. Do we still need a medical exam and is it required for my wife and kids as well ?
3. If i have to appear for medical exam and since i already have a health card , will this be covered in health care ?
4. It is asking for "Offer of employment" and Letter of employment. I only have offer letter from my company. will that be sufficient ?
5. I see Employment record listed four times. what that means ? is that if i worked in four companies i need to provide proofes for all of them. how do i know which one is for which one ?

2. Since we already had a medical exam before coming to Canada and have not visited any other country since we came. Do we still need a medical exam and is it required for my wife and kids as well ? - Yes

3. If i have to appear for medical exam and since i already have a health card , will this be covered in health care ? - Not sure, check with your health care provider. It will most likely won’t be covered as you are not sick.

4. It is asking for "Offer of employment" and Letter of employment. I only have offer letter from my company. will that be sufficient ? - if you indicated that you have a job offer in Canada and claiming points, you have to provide the offer letter of that job.

5. I see Employment record listed four times. what that means ? is that if i worked in four companies i need to provide proofes for all of them. how do i know which one is for which one ?- most recent to the last in chronological order

Perfect. Appreciate your quick response. 2 more queries.

1. Can I provide this document (wife's PCC) later , Mentioning the same on LOE ?
2. My wife's family name was different before marriage , her passport has family name after marriage. Since I am not applying for her PR do i need to select "Yes" for "has this person been known by other name" for her ? In case i select "Yes" , is marriage certificate sufficient for that ?

Your application will be incomplete if you don’t provide PCC. It’s a very crucial document and not something you can substitute in LOE.

Yes - state reasons for name change and provide necessary documents

Document to prove name before marriage - her family ration card, any proof of their family where her name was mentioned.

For proof of new name - marriage certificate should do

Plus - an explanation in LOE.

One thing i dont get here , I am applying the PR for myself only and marked my wife as non accompanying. Why do they need PCC for my wife. I got it done for me and have it ready. Since we didn't plan it for my wife so i neva got it done.

can i submit my application and meanwhile get started on my wife's PCC and submit it later on ?

Did any one applied for themselves and not for their spouse ? although spouse is already in Canada on dependent VISA (open work permit) ? do you need to get pcc done for wife in this case ?

Call up CIC :) they will tell you why

Whether spouse is accompanying or not, you must provide her PCC as ultimately in future you will definitely sponser her PR. IRCC wants to know that she do not have any criminal record because if she has criminal record which will make her inadmissible to Canada then you will also be condidered inadmissible to Canada and will not be granted PR.

Whether your wife is accompanying you or not, PCC, medical, POF is mandatory. You need to submit it.
