Is it true that if you go to canada on a study permit..and you get married to another international student you dont have to comply with your study permit rules if the spouse in canada is on a study permit? That you cant get deported for non-compliance?

says "Exemptions In accordance with subsection RR0.1(3) the following people are exempt from the study permit conditions under subsection R220.1(1): a family member of a foreign national who resides in Canada and is described as a person who holds a study permit."

No - that's not what that means at all. You can certainly still be removed from Canada.

If you have a spouse who is an international student and you want to stop attending school but still remain in Canada, then you either need to change your status to a TRV or apply for an open work permit based on your spouse's study permit. You must continue to keep your status in Canada valid.

thx for clearing that up..
so to do that you must be still be attending school and following the rules of the permit until you get `APPROVED~for the open work permit based on your spouse study permit
