Its probably not validated and reliable news but could be a prediction as for a while applicants under Sydney CHC are not reporting change in their status (In process not getting MR, Medical done not getting PPR and PPR sent awaiting for visa stamping!!... No CHC can stop processing visa's without due instruction from CIC.... They might pile some of the similar staged processed file for final review for a fixed time limit for some reason....
Lets wait what others and seniors input on this......

It is possible that Sydney Australia has fulfilled their quota for Skilled workers and won't issue any new visas until the new year. London already has been telling applicants no visas till the new year.

Got my second AOR from Sydney Australia yesterday, did not mention anything in there at all..Rumours!!!

You might want to at least search BritishExpats. for their are a no. of applicants who have received letters from London stating that their visa will not be issued to the new year.

London is not Sydney..or do I mix up stuff? The area Sydney, Australia, is responsible for includes following countries:

Australia, Bora Bora, Cook Islands, Fiji, French Polynesia, Kiribati, Nauru, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Niue Island, Norfolk Island, Papua New Guinea, Pitcairn Island, Samoa (American), Samoa (Western), Solomon Islands, Tahiti, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Wallis

A total of maybe 30 million people live there, I don't think they all want to go to Canada...

In my category, 0631, barely 150 applications out of 1000 have been received.. why would they stop processing my application?

Because you are not the only skilled worker applying they are still processing applications from 2007. Each overseas office is given a quota for the number of Skilled worker visas they can issue. This is to keep the number each year within the 70,000 to 80,400 applicant range for 2010
