Hi there,
My parents have super visas. My immigration consultant told me that we have to apply for visitor records if they want to stay over 6 months. We did last year with insurance and financial proofs as usual. The results came back with a year from the date they arrived.
However, I don't think this is right. That means that we will have to do this every year, which is (1) costly, and (2) no different from regular visa extension.
Do you have experience with this? Or can anyone confirm this approach sound correct for you?

Your consultant is getting confused between supervisa and normal TRV. If your parents arrived very recently then they can visit for 5 years as long as you are able to purchase and do purchase supervisa insurance each year. If your parents have health expensive health issues one year or their health declines it may be difficult to get supervisa insurance the next year
