Does retaking IELTS affect ongoing application?

I have already applied for Federal Skilled Worker program with sufficient IELTS marks. I need to take IELTS again for another purpose. Do I have to update my test results with CIC when I get the new results? My worries is if the results get worse, it might affect my points and result in disqualification. Thanks

how CIC will get to know that you are going to take new test ......go a head take test CIC does not have any concern with your new result .........
