Hi,

I am wondering if someone knows if working as a full time and paid research assistant student at a company as outside Canada as part of my master degree (while being enrolled as a full time student) could count as a 1 year of federal work experience? I know if it the same case but in Canada it won't count as I should be on work permit not on a study permit to be counted. If I need to elaborate more please let me know.
Please help!
Thanks,

Yes, it will count.

However if this is your only foreign experience you have to make sure that it is continuous otherwise you won't be eligible under the FSW program.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Just to confirm. It will count even if this research assistantship was required to do my master thesis and get the master degree ?

Yes, work experience during studies OUTSIDE of Canada does count.
