Does priority processing for Intra Company Transfer work permit require LMIA?

Hi All - The immigration specialist in my company told me that the employer cannot apply priority processing for my intra-company-transfer work permit because the company can't apply LMIA. But based on my own research, seems that priority processing for ICT doesn't really require LMIA?

Anyone experience the same issue before? I would appreciate any help!

Your employer has to apply for a LMIA exemption through the Employer Portal. Once you have LMIA exemption number, you apply for closed work permit.

Thank you for helping out! Do you know how to apply for priority processing? Is it something that you automatically eligible for after applying for work permit? Or do applicants need to take the initiative and kick off the some kind of application for priority processing?

Priority processing depends on your NOC/skill level. You don’t ask for it.
