I'm applying for PR through Canadian Experience Class and I have included my Canadian common-law partner as non-accompanying on my application.

Since he completed his Masters less than 10 years ago in the UK, the system is requiring that he submit a UK police certificate for his time there. He lived in the UK for 1.5 years.

I've been advised by friends who have applied for PR that this is a mistake, as Canadian partners do not have to submit any documents besides copies of their passports. Can someone please advise? What should I put for the section where it asks for his UK police certificate?

Your Canadian partner submits nothing for your app except proof of his citizenship.

Nothing at all. As said, just proof of citizenship.

You can upload a letter explaining this. Because unless you upload something the system will not let you through.
