In my application I am writing that I came to Canada in 2011 to live with my gf, and also cause I would have a better chance to find a job in person. In a few places actually, and also in a letter of support from a frined of us, she stated that I came to Canada so I could have looked for a job while my gf was finishing university. Which is true of course, was I supposed to do nothing?
However, does this sound bad, as in, "I came here just to look for a job"? Do you think I should take it out?

I would just word it generally. Came to be with gf and because there are better career opportunities / overall life is better in Canada.

PS - this probably could have gone into the big stickied thread :P

Did you enter Canada as a "visitor", or on a "work permit"? Or other even?

Visitor. Then I got the LMO 5 months later and flagpoled

you're allowed to look for work on a visitor visa, and as long as you got the LMO then you're OK, no reason to hide it. And if you had a gf in Canada it's a strong reason to choose Canada over any other country, so if your friend stated that, I don't think it's a problem...
