Hi guys I need an advise please help.
My application status: Medical received
I have just received RPRF/biodata request
I am planning to get married prior to becoming permanent resident to different person instead of a father of my child and my baby was born in Canada 6 months ago and father's name in the birth certifate that I have sent to CIC.
But we are common law in the marital status in CRA for the child tax benefits.
Both single in the PR application because we have sent separated PR application before living together and had baby.
Something went wrong in the relationship and we are separating.

Does it cause problem if I have common law partners in the CRA when I processed child tax benefits, single in PR application but father's child name in the birth certificate and i am going yo marry different person.
I really need an advise before informing CIC that I intend to get married prior to bcoming permanent resident. If it is gonna be a problem then i will skip this plan and to spousal sponsorship at a later time when I got my PR. What should I do?
Please help. Thank you.

It wont be a problem. Just inform CIC ..as long as you didnt included him in your PR application its not a problem..

My worry is we are common law partners in the CRA when I file child tax benefits.
Is it gonna be a problem?

theres no need to have two threads running on the same topic.

if you and your partner have split up and are no longer living together then in the eyes of immigration you are not commonlaw - I don't believe you should technically file as a couple for CRA either but you should talk to a tax consultant about that.

Oh, where to start.

If you have an application in process, you MUST inform CIC if your marital status changes. It is not impossible for CIC to figure out that you have not done so (how likely it is that they do, I don't know), but failure to inform CIC of this could result in refusal or worse. But if this relationship is breaking up now, no point in doing so now.

You must also inform the CRA of changes to your marital status - so if your "common-law marriage" ends, you must inform the CRA - if you don't, and you are receiving illegitimate benefits, you are committing tax fraud. If you delay, you will have to repay the benefits.
If your marital status changes you must notify us by the end of the month following the month in which your status changed. For example, if your marital status changed in August 2012, you must notify the CRA by no later than September 30, 2012. However, if you have become separated, do not notify us until you have been separated for more than 90 consecutive days.

You don't have to tell CIC about your intention to get married, only when you do get married.

Your spouse's name does not have to match the father's name on your child's birth certificate.
