Hi, I am going for a 2-year diploma in Conestoga may 24 intake. The course is scheduled for 4 consecutive terms and will be completed in 16 months. However, I plan to take on extra credits in 1st and 2nd semesters so that I can graduate after 3rd semester at the end of 12 months.

Will I still be eligible for a 3-year PGWP or will it have an impact? I plan on doing this to save on tuition fees for a term. I am assuming If I finish all the credits required by 3rd sem, I don't have to pay tuition for 4th term and still get a diploma. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks.

If your program description says “2 years” then yes.IRCC assesses PGWP based on the prescribed program length, not the actual time it took the student to complete. See this link:

Accelerated studies
If a student completes their studies in less time than the normal length of the program (that is, they have accelerated their studies), the post-graduation work permit should be assessed on the length of the program of study.

For example, if the student is enrolled in a program of study that is normally 1 year in duration, but the student completes the requirements for the program of study within 8 months, they may be eligible for a post-graduation work permit that is valid for 1 year.
