Hi,

I sent my PR application to CIO as a PNP from Ontario on Oct 14th. Still now I haven't heard back anything from them. I now feel that I should have added a particular piece of document to support my application. I would surely like to add that before any decision is made. But since I don't have a file number right now, I can't do that at this moment. Is it possible that CIO may reject your application right away even before giving you a file number and informing that your application is in process?

Thanks,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

If the document that you missed to attach is listed in the check list, then surely CIO will return your application to you because they haven't assigned any file number to your file. If you think it's only a supporting document, CIO nay not return the application.

The only thing is, it get's delayed in your processing times. Other than that nothing will go wrong.

Thanks,
Sarayu.

Hi Sarayu,

Thanks for your reply, the document is not listed in the check list but I think it's essential in the decision making process for my application. I am concerned that if I wait to get the file number before sending the document, then there is a possibility that my application get rejected if CIO only communicates with you after they made a decision. On the other hand if I send the document now, it may not be associated to my application w/o the file number and get lost forever. I am not sure what to do about this. :(

Regards,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Let me tell you one thing. The very first step at CIO is, as soon as they open your file, they will just look in to your check list and verify if you have provided all the listed documents and fees as per the requirements or not. If they find everything is there, then simply they will assign a number to your file and inform you the same.

Since you said the "missing document" is not listed in the check list, per my knowledge and understanding, it should not be a problem. But you said, it's the important document to make a decision in your case, the concerned visa office will later ask you to provide that document. This is what I strongly believe. So, please hope for the best and wait for now, you should get your AOR by mid of Dec or maximum by end Dec as it's holidays season.

All the best Daniel.

Thanks,
Sarayu.

Hi Sarayu,

Thanks a lot for the details you shared about the processing at CIO, now I feel a lot relieved. The reason of my concern was that in most PNP Tracksheets I saw that the medical test is requested almost at the same time as AOR-CIO, and somebody told me that by the time your medical is requested, the decision about your application is already made. So I thought I won't get any chance to communicate anything if I wait till AOR-CIO. But now I feel that I will have time to send my document once I get the acknowledgement.

Thanks,
Daniel
