Does CIC send an email/snail mail when they start processing applications?

Did any of you receive an email and or snail mail when cic started processing your application and one when the file is transferred to the local office or just when you get an invite to the test and oath?

They only send correspondence in following scenarios:

1. AOR
2. Test
3. Oath
4. Additional Documentation
