Hi there, my husband and I recorded a 10-minute .mp3 recording of an impromptu "interview" we did with each other, to discuss our relationship and how we feel about each other. My husband and I are, notoriously, quite playful with each other, and this definitely is evident in the clip. Our playfulness can, admittedly, sometimes ebb towards a side of 'meanness'; e.g. Me: "I HOPE you're pretty fond of me", Husband: "Eh, sometimes." Mutual laughter. That kinda thing. At one point I say something to the effect of, "We like to keep the domestic abuse at a minimum," to which he responds "you make me sound like the abusive spouse; I've NEVER...", and then I say "no, I'm the abusive one." Har-har-har. Clearly sarcastic, right?
I, personally, think it seems really natural and really fun and playful and like we obviously have spent a lot of time together and are quite fond of each other. My husband is afraid that whomever oversees our application may not have QUITE the same sense of humour that we necessarily do, and thus may interpret it as "not liking each other". I suppose, the domestic abuse thing for example, if taken literally, could be quite counter-productive. But I would tend to imagine that the CIC official overlooking our file would be trained to interpret such things accurately.
In any event, it is a very accurate representation of what we are like when we are around other people; both friends, as well as people we generally just meet. If we were called to an actual interview together, it would be the exact same thing. Therefore, to me it appears more genuine than contrived or sugar-coated. We could just use a second-opinion.
