Hello all,

Hope you guys are doing good. I am in a dilemma whether to applying for the Express Entry now, or wait another year. My profile in brief,

I will be acquiring 1 year of Canadian experience by end of Dec 2015 and with my foreign experience, masters and IELTS score I am getting 481 points. I have couple of good opportunities in pipeline with start date in the month of March 2016, but those jobs are in a different NOC code as my current job. I am expecting an ITA in the month of January 2016, and I have all the necessary documents ready except for Medicals.

My question is if I apply with my current job and change my job after applying for PR will my application be still valid, or do I have to create a new profile and also wait for another year in order to gain 1 year of Canadian experience in the new NOC code job and then apply. Does CIC allow job change during the application process or they simply reject it. Any insights on this issue are much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Changing a job AFTER submitting your post ITA application doesn't impact the PR application unless your PR application is contingent on that job by virtue of that job being LMIA supported and/or being located in a particular province leading to a PN thereby giving you 600 additional points.

Under any other circumstance, your application is processed on past merits not on present/future job changes.

@Asivadanac: If a person X changes his/her job post submission of documents after ITA, is he/she not liable to inform the change in job to CIC?

Also, If a person is working in a particular NOC xxxx, and he/she completes an additional year as work exp in that NOC (but this happens after ITA and submission of documents and no points were claimed for year 3 of work ex, should we inform CIC about this? Get the points increased?

Thanks,

Addie

Not liable to inform CIC. Unless the change involves a change in address as well. In which case, you must inform CIC about the new address. The new job still makes no difference to your PR application so there is no need to inform CIC about it.

The additional points make no material difference to your PR application as you received an ITA with lesser points. So there is no need to inform CIC about work anniversary or claim corresponding point increase.

@Asivadanac, thank you so much for enlightening me, and also others who may be helped by your reply.

@Asivadanac and experts please help!

I completed 3 years work experience in sep 2015 and recieved ITA on 2nd Oct. I submitted my PR application on 15th Nov and recieved AOR the same day. Now my question is, if I resign from my current job by the end of January (as I need to give my employer a notification period of three months) so by the time I actually finish my job it would be the end of april. By this time I would already have past my 5.5 months post AOR. I know this resignation shouldn't make a difference in terms of work experience for which I've claimed points in my ITA, as I've already gained that experience but my question is; if it will affect my background check and do I need to inform CIC about this resignation?

Any help and advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

It would not affect your application in anyways. You are not obliged to inform CIC in this case.
