Hi,

Once you complete the citizenship process and receive your Canadian Citizenship card - does it expire? If it does, do you have to meet any residency requirements to renew the card?

I've tried googling and checking CIC site but they don't have any info on this question.

Thanks!

Citizenship never expires unless you voluntary relinquish.

You can google "passport Canada" for passport processing times.

The Canadian citizenship card is for life, while Canadian passport (for adult) is renewed every five years. Yes, Canadian has right of mobility.

They have stopped issuing citizenship cards now so you will get a paper certificate instead but no, it never expires. Only your Canadian passports will expire and have to be renewed.
