Hello,

I'm married to someone I can't stand anymore and who I would like to divorce from.

I also would like to leave Europe for Canada.

I calculated my CRS score and made sure to reply "NO" when asked "Will your spouse or common-law partner come with you to Canada?", neither my wife or I have any relatives in Canada, my CRS score is now 480.

My wife doesn't plan on joining me, is perfectly aware that I'm trying to move to Canada and doesn't oppose my plans but she's still trying to work things out between us so no official divorce procedures have been engaged.

She's not expecting and we don't have any kids.

I'd like to know if the fact that I remain married will negatively affect my chances of obtaining Canadian permanent residency through Express Entry and how would applying for Express Entry when one is married but does not bring along his spouse differ from when one applies for Express Entry while being single.

Hello,

First of all, I feel you what you are going through and it is very difficult situation. You need mention that you are married but spouse not accompanying to Canada. You may use any truthful reason.

I chose this option but for another reason, and my file is progressing well.
