Does backlogs and repetitions have an effect on admissions in universities for M.Tech Civil??

I am in final year of B.tech. I did not write 3-2 because my father passed away and I was not in the country. Will that effect me in the admissions in the universities?? I am hoping to get an over all % at the end of 4-2 to be around 70%.

No, Just get the documents right.
Arrange SOP, IELTS score and everything will be fine.
Backlogs wont be a problem.
