What kind of informations could they provide? If the applicant not stay in Canada, would they able to speak with me?
Please share any experiences. Appreciate.

you generally contact the MP of your constituency. They need you to send a signed document that has your ID and address.

Thank you for your kindly input.

I got reply from MP today. She had discussed my file with CIC and was informed that my case will be finalized with 4-6 weeks.

How did you contact your MP? Email or in person?

Sorry to bother. Is there any way to find email id online please?

Here is the link: http://www.parl.gc.ca/Parlinfo/Compilations/HouseofCommons/MemberByPostalCode.aspx?Menu=HOC

Just find the local MP with your postcode. Hope you will have some good news soon.

Sorry, friend. What is MP? Could they help us ask about our applications?

MP is the Member of Parliament. They usually can follow up on your application if they have enough excuse to do so. Sometimes if the application gets stuck somewhere and the applicant does not receive any replies form CIC, they can follow up on your behalf and give you an answer in days.

The MP needs to be local, the applicant needs to contact the local MP in Canada.

It sounds useful. Can we complain to them when we feel unjust?

Actually no! You have to know that they are only capable of following up on your application. They can not tell CIC what to do or what not to do! They simply follow up!

Thank you. What is the right time to contact them to follow up our applications?

Sorry mate! I can not tell you when is the right time! Every application is unique and only the applicant can determine when it is the right time to do it. Usually when you have tried everything and have exhausted every route and have not actually got a straight answer is the right time.

Best of luck,

I've seen a few people on this forum contact their local MP to follow up on their CEC application. You'll need to show the MP's office your application is overdue per CIC timeline, which is 13 months right now. If you applied at the end of Jan, your MP probably won't do anything for you except telling you to wait...

Remember, the MP can only ask CIC what's going on, he/she cannot tell CIC what to do...
