Hi Forum members,

I sponsored my dependent child (2 years old) the PR and we are currently in Canada. My son is a US citizen so he is staying with us here in Canada.

He got his COPR (Physical paper copy) last week. I tried to schedule an appointment to complete the landing process with the IRCC office but cannot get through to talk to any agent over the phone. Alternatively, I am thinking of driving to Niagara Falls and doing the flagpole and applying for his PR card.

I want to know whether anyone in this forum did the flagpole recently? What are the specifics? How long did it take, etc? Please let me know.

Appreciate your help.

Thanks!
Harish

You drive across, you come back, you present the COPR and other papers, and explain that you are landing for the child. They'll do the stuff and sign or stamp the thing, keep one photo for the PR card.

One complication: you will have to do the ArriveCan thing. That may mean you have to enter the USA.

I and my wife do not have US visa anymore to enter US legally. Only my child is a US citizen. Would that be a problem,?

Well, possibly yes. Sorry, I don't really know about that factor.

This would have been much easier if you'd followed the instructions in PPR for someone in Canada.

No issues…..u can tell the usa border guards that you need to go do flagpole for canada
They have procedure its easy then u come back to cdn side and land your son

Can we do flagpole any day of the week? or only certain days? Some members said it's only certain days during the week but not sure. TIA.

I don't know about the recent scenario. If you go to peace bridge at fort Erie, it's comparatively easy as there won't be much floating. Earlier it used to be Tuesday,Wed, Thursdays any time for the flag pole. Some of my friends visited Rainbow Bridge at niagara. You have to go at around 8 in the morning stand in the queue
But please check latest updates and vaccine requirements before you go
