Hi, I have a few questions about police clearance documents of the Family sponsorship application:

1) On the application, Family members is defined as "An applicant’s closest relatives, in the context of an application to CIC. It is defined as a spouse or common-law partner, dependent children, and their dependent children." When CIC asks to submit a Police Certificate, it says provide police certificates for all family members who are 18 or above.
In relation to that definition do parents and siblings fall in the family member category? Will the police certificates for the parents and the siblings need to be submitted, even though they do not fall under the specific definition of "Family Members"?

2) When you attach a letter from friends and family, could the scanned copy of the letter be attached or does it has to be the original copy?

Family members are those included in the application. If your siblings and parents arent included they dont need the check

Original is better for the letters

Thank you for your reply@ starnaenae.

Parents and siblings are included in the application under the "Additional Family Information" So, should they need to provide police certificate?

They are NOT INCLUDED. They are just listed in Additional Family Information...

So, there is no need to provide Police certificates for parents and sibling even though they are listed in Additional Family Information, correct?
