Hello friends,

Although I have been a visitor to this forum for quite sometime now. But registered just now when I am myself about to start my application process for FSW1. I am from Pakistan.

My wife's uncle (real brother of my wife's father) is a Canadian citizen settled in Vancouver and we want to claim 5 points through him under the Adaptability factors. Visa office instructions for Islamabad say that a birth certificate of the Canadian relative needs to be provided. I have a birth certificate of my wife. But there isn't any birth certificate of my wife's father and uncle. Instead of requesting my wife's father and uncle to have their birth certificates prepared, can I submit the translated marriage certificates of my wife's father and uncle? reason being, their marriage certificates will have their father's name (my wife's grandfather's name) and can prove that both of them are real brothers. Please advise.

Also, after reading through the visa office instructions, I conclude that below are the documents I need to submit with my application to claim these 5 points under the Adaptability factors.

1. My wife's birth certificate
2. Marriage certificate of my wife's father
3. Marriage certificate of my wife's uncle
4. Copy of Canadian citizenship card of my wife's uncle

Do you think the above documents will suffice? If you think I am missing anything, please feel free to add it to the list.

Regards

i am not experienced in this but i think you also have to provide proof that your uncle is living in Canada (such as utility bills, etc).

If it is not expensive, this is what i would do. i would prepare all the documents that you said above and maybe an affidavit from your wife to say they are all related or her father.

What do other's think?

Look at this as three different parts.

1. Proof how your spouse is related to her uncle

- Birth Certificate of your Spouse, Your Marriage Certificate (To get Spouse's Father Name & Grandfather Name)
- Your Spouse's Father's Marriage Certificate (Showing Father Name, May be address is same, highlight other common things)
- Your Spouse's Unlc's Marriage Certificate (Showing Father Name, May be address is same, highlight other common things)
- Any other proof which shows linkage from your spouse -> her unlce (Like B-Form, ID Cards, etc...)

2. Proof You Spouse's Uncle is Canadian Citizen or PR of Canada

- Copy of Canadian Passport
- Copy of Landing Record or Copy of PR Card or any other Document

3. Proof that you Spouse's Uncle is living in Canada

- Credit Card Statements showing spending in Canada (at least 6 months)
- Utility Bills of House in Canada
- Tax Returns

I hope this helps...
