We are planning to apply canada immigration under Skilled worker /Professional Immigration where My wife is primary candidate. I review form IMM5612E.pdf and under point 16.
Do we need to provide evidence that we have cohabited for a period of at least 12 continuous months with documents of joint bank a/c , copy of lease, utility bill etc.

We have joint account but we crated resent month - We dont have any join account before 12 months. What kind of other documents can acceptable?

we got married before 1 year 4 months - is marriage certificate acceptable as evidence?

Please help on this confusion.

Thanks in advance.

marriage certificate is acceptable......but u need to furnish more evidence by providing supporting docs

Thanks for your your replay. :D

if you know the list of the supporting document - pretty much appreciate if you can provide it

Thanks in advance

You don't need to provide evidence that you have cohabited for a period of at least 12 continuous months with documents of joint bank a/c , copy of lease, utility bill etc. Its only for common law partner, not for married couples.

You can provide joint account statements that you created last month. Also provide birth certificates for ur spouse alongwith a revised passport having ur name as spouse.

Since, you got married 1 year 4 months before marriage certificate is acceptable as evidence.

All photocopies are to be notarized. This list is for people from New Delhi VO. Please correlate with your VO specific requirements.

Marriage certificate will suffice...
Warm regards,

Thanks for your quick response :)
My friend is having similar issue which i am mentioning below.

They got married before 3 months and his wife is having passport but not along with a revised passport having his name as spouse. Is that fair enough for apply to Canada immigration with newly couple ? Do we need to provide evidence with at lest 1 year for marride relationship?

It is nowhere written that you need to complete 1 year of marriage in order to apply.........a revised passport having spouse name, marriage and engagement pics, marriage certificate are supporting docs both you and your friend can submit alongwth ur appln :)

In short, your friend can apply if he is eligible for FSW with the above proof ;)

Follow the instructions in the checklist for New Delhi, note the statement on the checklist "Send photocopies of all other documents, unless instructed otherwise." http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3904E.PDF

Yup.....a mistake from my end......no need to notarize photocopies :D

Thank you so much :D

Do we have to provide both engagement and marriage photocopies? hope only one copy is enough for both.

If you have a marriage certificate in your native language(not in English/French)...
Then you have two option...
1. Translate it from International record of book keeping in English then that will suffice also forward the copy of the original which has been translated...
2.Translate it from Notary public (which have license for attestation and translation )in English then that will suffice also forward the copy of the original which has been translated...

Warm regards,

Its always better to include any supporting docs even if its not mentioned on the Doc checklist......marriage certificate is enough, but include as many proofs as possible
