I've been in Canada for more than 5 years. I applied for a visitor's record and was told to get a medical exam. I've heard that sometimes people can skip the exam if they're already in Canada and already had undertaken a medical exam before entering Canada.

But I've also heard that the previous exam needs to be taken within the last 5 years. My last medical exam was about 5 and a half years ago. Is this 5 year rule strict? Has anyone here taken their exam more than 5 years ago but still been eligible for the exemption?
