Do you need to be phisically in Canada after applying for Citizenship?

Hi there,

I will be eligible for Citizenship in January, but I am planning to spend some time with my wife in NY, USA. I am planning to go on February and return only for exams/interview/oath. Will this neglect my eligibility to citizenship?

No that should not make any problem. You applied after becoming eligible and you are free to travel. The main thing that you have to meet the residency requirement before you apply. This is only my view. Good luck

...as said above. Make sure though that you check your email and mail! If you give up your residence here in Canada move there) I think (!) you need to inform them. Personally I would make sure to not move...as this might complicate things, but than...I wouldn't know exactly.
